Српски кошараш Никола Јокић други пут за три године ускраћен је за заслужени наслов најкориснијег играча регуларног дијела НБА лиге.
Амерички спортски новинар Шемс Чаранија преноси да је МВП признање отишло у руке кошаркаша "Оклахоме" и канадског репрезентативца Шеја Гилџуса-Александера.
Иако је Јокић регуларни дио сезоне завршио са трипл-дабл просјеком, то није било довољно да добије четврто МВП признање у каријери и титулу незванично најбољег кошаркаша планете.
Јокић је по свим статистичким параметрима, осим у поенима, био испред Канађанина у регуларном дијелу сезоне.
Бек "Оклахоме" је други канадски кошаркаш послије Стива Неша који је добио МВП признање.
Ово је уједно и седма везана НБА сезона да Американац није МВП.
НБА лига објавила је раније да ће МВП бити проглашен у емисији "НБА на ТНТ" уочи првог меча финала Источне конференције између "Индијане пејсерса" и "Њујорк никса".
Осим Јокића и Шеј Гилџус-Александера у трци за МВП титулу био је и грчки репрезентативац и играч "Милвоки бакса" Јанис Адетокумбо.
