Кроз српску историју, оно што није записано, живи у народном предању. Истина, некада, упркос историјским чињеницама, предање допушта ширину и на другачији је врједносни начин урезано у народно памћење.
Тако је са црквом Светог Архангела Михаила у Трновом Долу код Билеће, гдје је, према предању, војвода Влатко Вуковић причестио војску пред одлазак у Косовски бој.
Нема записа о том догађају, о одлуци краља Твртка, нема ни чврстих података о периоду градње саме цркве. Чињеница је да, као бројни сакрални објекти, сеже у средњи вијек, да је била дуго запустјела и запуштана. Прије неколико година почела је њена обнова.
