Филм "Руски конзул" српски је кандидат за Оскара, саопштио је Филмски центар Србије.
Селекциона комисија коју су чинили Димче Стојановски, предсjедник, Биљана Максић, Дарко Бајић, Дејан Дабић, Божидар Зечевић, Ђорђе Милосављевић и Милош Јанковић, донијела је одлуку о избору српског кандидата за 97. додјелу награде Америчке академије филмске умјетности и науке "Оскар" у категорији за најбољи међународни филм.
Тајним гласање филму Мирослава Лекића "Руски конзул" додјељено је девет гласова, "За данас толико", Марка Ђорђевића добио је седам, "Радничка класа иде у пакао", Младена Ђорђевића три, а "Недеља", Немање Ћеранића два гласа.
Главну улогу у филму "Руски конзул" одиграо је недавно преминули, легендарни Жарко Лаушевић, који је постхумно добио најгласнији и најдужи аплауз на крају премијерне пројекције на 52. ФЕСТ-у.
