Odbojkašice Srbije doživjele su prvi poraz u kvalifikacijama za Olimpijske igre u Parizu sljedeće godine.
Rani jutarnji termin nije prijao Srbiji, koja je poklekla prvi put u Ningbou i to u ne baš prijatnom trenutku. Dominikanska Republika je slavila poslije četiri seta, a izabranice Đovanija Gvidetija su odigrale dobro samo u drugom koji su dobile. U prvom i trećem setu reprezentativke Srbije su jurile rezultat, ali je završnica oba puta pripala rivalu. U četvrtom setu, Dominikanska Republika je imala značajnu prednost koju je do kraja uspješno čuvala za pobjedu od 3:1.
Srbiji predstoje još dva meča, ali već sada je izvjesno da će se za dve karte za Pariz boriti Srbija, Dominikanska Republika, Kina i Holandija, kao i da će neizvjesnost potrajati do posljednjeg meča u Ningbou, koji će odigrati Srbija i Kina.
Srbija će sutra u 6. kolu igrati protiv Holandije od 10.00 časova po našem vremenu, a u posljednjem, 7. kolu, u nedjelju, 24. septembra protiv Kine od 13.30 časova po našem vremenu.
Plasman na OI izboriće dvije prvoplasirane ekipe iz Ningboa.
