Rukometašice Norveške postale su nove šampionke svijeta, pošto su u nedjelju u finalu Svjetskog prvenstva u španskom Granoljersu pobijedile Francusku sa 29:22 (12:16).
Norvežanke su posle velikog preokreta i odlične igre u drugom poluvremenu, koje su dobile sa 17:6, uspele da savladaju aktuelne olimpijske šampionke i osvoje četvrto svjetsko zlato u istoriji.
Finalni meč za svjetsku titulu bio je repriza finala Evropskog prvenstva u Danskoj iz 2020. godine, a Norveška je tako objedinila svjetsku i evropsku krunu, pošto je prošle godine na EP takođe osvojila najsjajnije odličje.
Norvežanke su ove godine osvojile i bronzu na Olimpijskim igrama u Tokiju.
Najefikasnija u pobjedničkom timu bila je Heni Reistrad sa šest golova, a Nora Mork i Kari Bretset pomogle su sa pet golova.
U ekipi Francuske Alison Pino postigla je četiri gola.
Bronzanu medalju osvojila je reprezentacija Danske, koja je u borbi za treće mjesto pobijedila Španiju sa 35:28.
