Svjetska fudbalska federacija (FIFA) otkazala je zbog pandemije virusa korona svjetska prvenstva do 17 i do 20 godina zakazana za iduću godinu.
Sljedeća izdanja ovih takmičenja trebala bi se održati 2023. godine, a Indonezija će biti domaćin najboljih fudbalera do 20, a Peru do 17 godina.
FIFA je saopštila da "pandemija KOVID-19 i dalje predstavlja izazov za domaćine međunarodnih sportskih događaja i ograničava međunarodna putovanja".
Krovna fudbalska organizacija navodi da je "postalo jasno da se globalna situacija nije uspjela normalizovati na dovoljan nivo da odgovori na izazove domaćina oba turnira, uključujući izvodljivost kvalifikacija".
