Selo Jasenovac, ime je, najvjerovatnije, dobilo po jasenovom drvetu. Središte je istoimene opštine u Posavini u Hrvatskoj.
Ekipa magazina "Oko" i RTS-a iz Beograda posjetila je selo Jasenovac, mjesto najvećeg srpskog stradanja.
Prema posljednjem popisu ovdje živi oko 530 ljudi. Srba - oko desetak. Ostalo su Hrvati.
Glavna ulica, vodi do Spomen kopleksa, mjesta nekadašnjeg logora smrti. Tu se, kao podsjetnik i izraz pijeteta za sve stradale, nalazi Kameni cvijet, autora Bogdana Bogdanovića.
Međutim, nekoliko stotina metara dalje, u samom selu i Srpska pravoslavna crkva, na svoj način, čuva sjećanje. Najviše kroz manastir Jasenovac, zatim imanja, koja kupuje ili dobija na poklon i na tim mjestima pravi svojevrsne memorijale.
