Srpski pjesnik i Njegošev učitelj Sima Milutinović Sarajlija /1791-1847/ umro je 11. januara 1847. godine.
U tadašnjim književnim krugovima u Beogradu Sima je bio cijenjen više od Gundulića, dok je Gete o njemu napisao dvije stranice pohvala.
Sima Milutinović Sarajlija rođen je u trgovačkoj porodici u Sarajevu, u koje su njegovi roditelji došli iz Srbije.
Sarajlija je počeo da uči u Zemunu, ali nije završio školu. Nemirna i nesređena duha, prošao je kroz mnoga zanimanja. Obišao je i mnoge krajeve od Vidina do Lajpciga, od Besarabije do Crne Gore.
Sima je bio pisar u Praviteljstvujuščem sovjetu, u manastiru Blagoveštenje i kod ustaničkih vojvoda. Učestvuje u ustanku protiv Turaka, a potom ide u Njemačku, gdje sluša filozofiju, upoznaje ugledne književnike i štampa svoj ep "Serbijanku".
Po povratku, postaje vaspitač Njegošev na Cetinju, a kasnije carinik, policajac, sekretar ministarstva i član apelacije. Bavio se pisanjem stihova, politikom, istoriografijom, lingvistikom, a osnovao je i pivaru.
Sima Milutinović Sarajlija umro je u Beogradu. Sahranjen je na groblju kod današnje Crkve Svetog Marka.
Značajnija njegova djela su i epske pjesme "Trojebratstvo i Trojesestarstvo", drama iz istorije Crne Gore "Dika crnogorska" i tragedija "Obilić".
