Vaterpolo reprezentacija Srbije savladala je večeras Sjedinjene Američke Države u prvom kolu Svjetskog prvenstva u Mađarskoj.
Na bazenu u Segedinu selekcija Srbije slavila je sa 17:13 (5:5, 3:2, 3:3, 6:3) i tako napravila krupan korak ka prvom mjestu u D grupi koje vodi direktno u četvrtfinale.
Najavljivao je selektor "delfina" Dejan Savić uoči turnira da će Amerikanci biti favorit iz sjenke i najteži rival Srbije u grupnoj fazi, i tako je i bilo.
Mučili su su "delfini" u većem dijelu prvog poluvremenu sa izabranicima Dejana Udovičića, a Savić je morao da reaguje prepoznatljivim tajm-autom pri vođstvu Amerikanaca (7:6) na kom je "izribao" svoje pulene.

To je urodilo plodom, uslijedila je reakcija srpskih vaterpolista koji su potom stekli prednost i nisu je ispuštali do kraja meča.
Najefikasniji u pobjedničkom timu bio je Dušan Mandić sa četiri gola.
U prvom meču D grupe Australija je ubjedljivo savladala Kazahstan sa 10:4 (1:0, 3:0, 3:2, 3:2).
Srbija za dva dana igra protiv Australije (18.00), a grupnu fazu završava duelom protiv Kazahstana 25. juna, takođe od 18 sati.
