U Klinici za infektivne bolesti Kliničkog centra Univerziteta u Sarajevu u protekla 24 časa pregledano je pet pacijenata sa kliničkom slikom koja upućuje na moguću infekciju leptospirozom, dok je jedan od pregledanih pacijenata zadržan na bolničkom liječenju.
Iz Kliničkog centra ističu da nastavljaju sa praćenjem situacije u vezi sa epidemijom leptospiroze u Kantonu Sarajevo i da će o tome redovno informisati javnost.
Nakon što je u petak, 23. maja, zvanično kod 17 ljudi potvrđena leptospiroza, Kantona Sarajevo proglašena je epidemija ove zarazne bolesti koja se prenosi sa životinja na ljude.
Za vrijeme trajanja epidemije biće preduzimane mjere predviđene Zakonom o zaštiti stanovništva od zaraznih bolesti, a koje se onose na prijavljivanje, epidemiološko ispitivanje, nadzor nad oboljelim osobama i pojačanu deratizaciju.
Biće vršena vanredna dezinfekcija vozila javnog prevoza, te pojačana higijena javnih površina i odvoz smeća, uz istovremeni inspekcijski nadzor sprovođenja ovih mjera.
