Velika tragedija dogodila se u nedjelju na trci šampionata Srbije u Kraljevu u autobolizmu na kružnim stazama kad je jedan od vozača, Aleksandar Šekularac iz Aleksandrovca, star 38 godina, poginuo.
Trka je održana u organizaciji Sportskog auto i karting saveza Srbije na poznatom autodromu Beranovac kod Kraljeva.
Do udesa je došlo kada su četvorica takmičara pokušala da pređu uski mostić koji je bio loše obezbjeđen. Došlo je do naguravanja. Šekularac je izgurnut sa staze i sleteo je s mosta. Nastao je muk. Sve kolege su u šoku. Vozači su jednoglasni u oceni da ih je napustio divan čovek i dobar drug.
Trka je odmah potom prekinuta, a teško povređeni Šekularac je, nakon što su ga pripadnici vatrogasno-spasilačke jedinice izvukli iz smrskanog automobila, sanitetom hitno prevežen u Opštu bolnicu „Studenica“ u Kraljevu.
Uprkos velikim naporima ljekara da ga reanimiraju i spasu mu život, nesrećni vozač je ipak podlegao povredama.
Na autodrom je ubrzo stigla vest da je Šekularac preminuo i sve trke po raspisanim klasama su zvanično prekinute, a svi ostali vozači su odvezli počasni krug na taj način odajući poštu tragično nastradalom kolegi.
