Štafeta Srbije u plivanju četiri puta 100 metara slobodno u muškoj konkurenciji, osvojila je evropsku titulu na prvenstvu u Beogradu, a jedan od njenih članova je i Velimir Stjepanović, koji je rodom iz Bijeljine.
Evropsko zlato su, osim Stjepanovića, osvojili Nikola Aćin, Justin Cvetkov i Andrej Barna.
Oni su finalnu trku završili sa rezultatom 3:12,90, ostavivši iza sebe Poljsku i Grčku.
Stjepanović, Barna, Aćin i Cvetkov, već su bili finalisti i evropskog i svjetskog prvenstva, a bili su i učesnici Olimpijskih igara u Tokiju.
Oni su izborili mjesto i za najveću smotru svjetskog sporta Parizu.
