U prosjeku, pri temperaturi od minus 7 stepeni automobil troši do 12 odsto više nego u proljeće ili ljeti pri 25 stepeni.
Vožnja zimi na kratkim udaljenostima nije ekonomična jer tada automobil troši najviše goriva, odnosno motor se ne uspijeva zagrijati. Potrošnja hladnog motora pri niskim temperaturama može rasti i do 40 litara goriva na 100 kilometara, piše "HAK".
Razloga za to je nekoliko: motoru je potrebno malo vremena da dođe na optimalnu temperaturu kad radi najefikasnije. Hladno vrijeme smanjuje pritisak u gumama, što može povećati otpor kotrljanja i potrošnju (provjerite povremeno pritisak u gumama). Hladni vazduh je gušći od toplog pa raste i otpor u vožnji i potrošnja goriva.
U uslovima kad na putu ima snijega i leda više je proklizavanja pogonskih točkova pa tako raste i potrošnja goriva. Sporija vožnja do 60 km/h takođe negativno utiče na konzumaciju goriva.
Pomoći će vam parkiranje u toplijim prostorima, poput garaža. Takođe, kad upalite automobil, krenite što prije s vožnjom, jer će se i motor prije ugrijati. Ne koristite funkcije za održavanje/odmagljivanje stakala i grijanje sjedišta predugo.
