Starije osobe mogu da poboljšaju svoje mentalno zdravlje redovnim korištenjem interneta, zahvaljujući čemu ostaju informisane i povezane sa ljudima, pokazuju rezultati novog istraživanja.
Studija objavljena u časopisu "Priroda ljudskog ponašanja" pokazala je da ljudi stariji od 50 godina koji su onlajn u prosjeku imaju manje simptoma depresije.
Studija, u kojoj su analizirane tehnološke navike više od 87.000 odraslih, otkrila je da stariji ljudi koji su često bili na internetu imaju oko devet odsto niže rezultate depresije od onih koji to nisu i takođe su zadovoljniji svojim životom.
Za ljude u drugoj polovini života, koji mogu da budu manje pokretni ili manje aktivni zbog zdravstvenih ograničenja, internet može da bude višestruko koristan, prenijela je agencija DPA.
Autori studije rekli su da digitalna komunikacija ne služi samo kao izvor informacija, već i olakšava društveno umrežavanje. Pored toga, može da pomogne u održavanju kontakta sa porodicom i prijateljima i širenju društvene mreže dotične osobe.
Prema studiji, pozitivni efekti su posebno izraženi kod osoba starijih od 65 godina koje su samci ili imaju malo društvenih kontakata.
